Warming in the Bullpen

The ACE Program is pleased to announce its partnership with Opportunity Through Baseball out of Salem, Virginia.  Opportunity Through Baseball is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization based out of Salem whose mission is to collect new and used baseball equipment and distributes it to kids throughout the United States and around the world who would not otherwise have such equipment available to them.  OTB is a great example of the how we can influence kids through the context of this game we share.  ACE is extremely proud to have this relationship with such a fine organization and look forward to building our goals together.

The ACE Program works to promote the permanence and preservation of the game of baseball by working with youth players and coaches to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to play the game.  Like OTB, the ACE Program shares a passion for reaching children with the game of baseball, making the two organizations ideal partners in achieving that goal.

 

"We are so grateful to the ACE Program for their support of our cause," OTB Founder and Executive Director Amy Webb said of the collaboration.  "OTB is looking forward to a successful partnership with the ACE Program.  Together we intend to continue to work toward providing the opportunity to play baseball to children all over the world."

The ACE Program has generously offered a $10.00 discount on any of its leagues or events to Cleveland area residents who make a contribution to OTB.  Future collaborative efforts will be detailed on each of the organization's websites.

ACE is proud to have such a distinguished panel of board members. We feel that it is important to draw from a variety of playing, coaching, and administrative backgrounds to create a well-rounded format. The advisory board shares a passion for the game of baseball as well as the proper development of our youth.

Jeremy Accardo, AdvisorJeremy Accardo Jeremy is currently in the Major Leagues with the Toronto Blue Jays coming off an outstanding campaign in 2007 in which he won 4 games, saved 30 games, and had a 2.14 ERA. Having played mainly SS in college and then being signed as a pitcher, Jeremy has 1st hand experience in making adjustments and understanding multiple positions on the field. [Read More...]

 

Paul Hoover, AdvisorPaul Hoover Paul finished the 2007 season splitting time in the big leagues with the Florida Marlins and Triple-A Albuqurque. He attended Kent State University where he was a three-year baseball letterman. Paul is another Advisory board member who has played multiple positions at the highest level, which provides us with a great resource.

Josh Sorge, AdvisorJosh Sorge Josh Sorge, former NCAA All-American, All Mideast Region Player, and All Mid-American Conference performer, enters his fifth year at the helm for the Strongsville High School (OH) Baseball Program in the spring of 2008. Josh’s coaching experience and travels are second to none in the H.S. coaching world. He has been able to share many aspects of player development, recruiting, and motivation with our staff.

Coach Chris Kaczmar will begin his twelfth season as the Head Varsity Baseball Coach at Walsh Jesuit High School (OH) in spring of 2008. Coach Kaczmar is won his third state championship in 2006 while holding the reigns of this nationally ranked program.
